Tasks for Developing the Tourist Plans Fair Project

Task 1: Research and Inspiration

  • Objective: To gather information and ideas for the tourist plan.
  • Instructions:
    1. Watch Videos: Students will watch videos of various tourist destinations, focusing on the attractions, culture, and experiences offered at each location.
    2. Listen to Conversations: Students will listen to sample dialogues between travel agents and clients to understand how to describe tourist plans and handle customer inquiries.
    3. Read Travel Guides: Students will read travel guides from blogs or websites to learn how to structure their tourist plans and gather ideas for their presentations.
  • Outcome: Each student or group will create a list of at least three tourist destinations they are interested in, along with key information about each location.
  • Share with your partners and discuss about them.

Task 2: Design Your Travel Guide

  • Objective: To create a detailed and visually appealing travel guide.
  • Instructions:
    1. Choose a Destination: Based on the research, students will choose one destination to focus on for their tourist plan.
    2. Create the Guide: Using PowerPoint, Prezi, or a similar tool, students will design a travel guide that includes information on attractions, accommodation, food, and activities available at the chosen destination.
    3. Incorporate Visuals: Students should include images, maps, and other visuals to make the guide more engaging.
  • Outcome: Each student or group will have a completed travel guide that will be used in their final presentation.

Task 3: Question Development and Practice

  • Objective: To prepare questions for interaction during presentations.
  • Instructions:
    1. Create Questions: Students will develop a set of questions that they can ask during other groups’ presentations. These questions should focus on the details of the tourist plans, such as why certain destinations were chosen, what makes them unique, and how the plan caters to different types of travelers.
    2. Practice Asking and Answering: In pairs, students will practice asking and answering these questions to build confidence and improve their ability to discuss tourist plans.
  • Outcome: Each student or group will have a list of thoughtful questions to use during the presentation sessions.

Task 4: Presentation and Peer Feedback

  • Objective: To present the tourist plan and receive constructive feedback.
  • Instructions:
    1. Present the Plan: Students will present their tourist plan to the class, simulating a pitch to potential clients. They should use their travel guide and any other visual materials to support their presentation.
    2. Engage with Questions: After each presentation, the audience (other students) will ask questions they prepared earlier. The presenting group should be ready to answer these questions.
    3. Peer Feedback: After the Q&A session, students will provide constructive feedback on the presentation, focusing on the clarity of information, the effectiveness of the visuals, and the overall persuasiveness of the tourist plan.
  • Outcome: Each student or group will have completed their presentation and received feedback that can be used to improve their communication skills.
